Mission:

Our mission is to create an inclusive environment where children with special needs encounter God's love, grow in faith, and participate fully in the sacramental life of the Catholic Church.

Objectives:

  • To create a welcoming space for children with special needs to experience God's love.
  • To provide catechesis that supports each child's faith journey.
  • To empower families as primary faith educators.
  • To ensure children receive the sacraments with understanding and grace.
  • To foster an inclusive community where children are embraced as vital members of the Church.

Key Roles as a Special Needs Befriender/Catechist:

The main function of a Special Needs Befriender/Catechist is to be a source of support, a helping hand and a listening ear for the child through visual and sensory tools that would enhance their learning formation through prayers and movement at their own pace.

They work together with parents and mainstream catechists to provide added resources and support for better outcomes.

Frequency:

We assist with weekly catechism classes across different age groups on either of these days and timings:

  • Saturdays at 1.30pm-2.30pm or 2.30pm-3.30pm
  • Sundays at 8am-9.15am or 10am-11.15am

Members’ meeting:

We meet once every two months for fellowship, updates and planning.
